Sidemount Instructor

This course is designed to develop qualified IANTD Sidemount Instructors.

Who may teach this course?

  • IANTD Sidemount Instructor Trainer or higher

Course Limits and Requirements

  • Maximum Depth: 132 fsw (40 msw)
  • Minimum Age: 18 years old
  • Prerequisites: Must be qualified in the following:
    • IANTD Open Water Instructor
      • Note: If not an IANTD Open Water Instructor, it must also be qualified as Deep Diver Specialty Instructor
      • Note: The Open Water or Open Water EANx Instructor can be taught in conjunction with the Sidemount Instructor Course as long as the candidate follow the Open Water Instructor Course requirements
    • IANTD Sidemount Diver
      • Note: The Sidemount Diver course, can not be taught in conjunction with the Open Water Instructor course
    • Proof of a minimum of 110 logged dives, including at least 30 dives using Sidemounted configurations
  • Equipment Requirements: Must own suitable Sidemount configuration
