Technical Mine Diver Instructor

This Program is designed to develop competent Instructors for teaching safe mine diving.

How deep can you dive with this program?
  • No dives may be conducted to depths greater than 150 fsw (45 msw).
What do you need to enroll in this program?
  • Option 1:
  • Must be qualified as:
    • IANTD Advanced EANx Instructor in Active Teaching Status.
    • IANTD Technical Diver, OR
    • IANTD Technical Mine Diver, OR
    • IANTD Cave Diver, OR
    • IANTD Technical Cave Diver.
  • Must be a minimum of 21 years of age.
  • Must have taught a minimum of 10 IANTD courses or equivalent
  • Must provide proof of a minimum of 100 logged mine dives.
  • Must have worked with and been evaluated by 2 different Technical Mine Diver Instructor in at least two (2) cave courses
    • Mine Supervisors must assist in two (2) courses
    • One of the assistances must be someone other than who originally certified the candidate as a Mine Supervisor.
    • Non Mine Supervisors must assist three (3) courses which one (1) is in conjunction with the IDC.
  • Option 2:
  • Must be qualified as:
    • IANTD Advanced EANx Instructor 
      • OR
    • IANTD Advanced Recreational Trimix Instructor
  • Must be a minimum of 21 years of age.
  • Must have taught a minimum of three (3) IANTD Introductory Mine Diver Courses or quivalent
  • Must have taught a minimum of three (3):
    • IANTD Advanced EANx Diver Courses or equivalent OR
    • IANTD Advanced Recreational Trimix Diver Courses or equivalent.
  • Must provide proof of a minimum of 300 logged dives, where at least 100 were technical dives (Cave, Wreck Penetration, Technical Diver, Normoxic Trimix, Trimix, etc.) and at least 100 NON MINE TRAINING DIVES between Introductory to Mine Dives and Mine Dives.
What are the training material requirements?
  • IANTD Technical Cave Diver Student Kit.
What are the equipment requirements?
  • All Equipment Requirements listed in the IANTD Technical Mine Diver Program are mandatory.
  • Must own or have unlimited access to an Oxygen analyzer.
