Scientific Diver

To provide training in techniques for collection of data underwater to support scientific investigations and survey objectives. To meet the requirements of industry-standard ‘Phase 2’ techniques, including Habitat recognition, structured recording of habitats, identification skills, specimen collection/preservation, quadrat recording, core sampling and imaging and postprocessing. Training in safe diving operations while using scientific survey tools and techniques, including team procedures and communications. Awareness of local legal rtegulations and community requirements. To meet the requirements of European Scientific diver and CMAS scientific diver qualifications

How deep can you dive with this Program?
  • No dives may be conducted to depths greater than diver’s previous certification level.
What do you need to enroll in this program?
  • Certifications requirements:
    • IANTD Rescue Diver or equivalent.
    • NOTE: Diver shall be certified as Surface Supplied Diver if any dive will be done using surface supplied source.
  • Age requirement:
    • Must be a minimum of 18 years of age.
  • Dive experience:
    • Proof of a minimum of 60 logged dives.
What is the minimum materials requirements?
  • Use of course specific manual.
