Wreck Survey Diver

This program is designed to provide advanced training in wreck diving skills to the experienced, certified, responsible wreck divers who wishes to conduct dives while surveying on a wreck. Expose wreck divers to conservation concerns and ethical responsibilities presented during collection of survey data.

How deep can you dive with this program?
  • No dives may be conducted to depths greater than the qualification of the student.
What do you need to enroll in this program?
  • Certifications requirements:
    • For divers who wish to not penetrate a wreck:
      • IANTD Wreck Diver or higher.
    • For divers who wish to survey the inside of a wreck:
      • IANTD Tek Lite Wreck Diver or higher.
  • Must be a minimum of 18 years of age.
  • Must provide proof of a minimum of 25 logged wreck dives.
What are the training material requirements?
  • IANTD Wreck Diver Student Kit OR IANTD Technical Wreck Diver Student Kit.
What are the equipment requirements?
  • Comply with all Equipment Requirements as specified in the general Cave Diver Courses
  • Cylinder requirements:
    • Double cylinders with dual outlet manifold, OR
    • Sidemount Configuration
  • For divers who wish to survey the inside a wreck:
    • All equipment listed in the IANTD Technical Wreck Diver Program
    • Reels and lights
  • Suitable survey slate and equipment needed to record data.

International Association of Nitrox Divers, IAND, was formed in 1985 in response to the needs of the diving public. Up until that time, mixed gas diving and the use of decompression gasses was limited, in a formal way, to military and commercial divers.
