IANTD Expands eLearning Options with New Audio-Based Diver Education.

The International Association of Nitrox and Technical Divers, better known as IANTD, has expanded its lineup of eLearning tools by introducing a new Audio based eLearning format designed to make diver education more accessible, flexible and responsive to the different ways students learn. Traditional eLearning has made diver education more accessible by allowing students to complete academic preparation before meeting with an instructor. Audio eLearning adds another layer of flexibility, offering an audio-centered format for students who find extended video viewing or screen-based reading difficult or less effective. IANTD’s audio learning content delivers structured educational material through professionally organized lessons with recorded narration and spoken instruction that students can review at their own pace.

Students must still complete all required academic work, knowledge reviews, examinations, instructor evaluations, confined-water sessions, open-water dives and performance requirements associated with their course.

“Students do not all absorb information in exactly the same way,” said Luis Pedro of IANTD.

The release of Audio eLearning for Open Water, Enriched Air Nitrox, and Advanced Open Water, with additional courses planned in the coming months, reflects IANTD’s commitment to improving educational delivery while preserving the integrity of its training programs. Convenience must never replace competence. Flexible academic preparation does not guarantee certification; students must still meet all applicable knowledge, skill, experience, and performance requirements under the supervision of an authorized IANTD instructor. At IANTD, the instructor remains central to training by reviewing academic performance, confirming understanding, providing practical instruction, and determining whether each student has demonstrated the knowledge, ability, and attitude required for certification.
